You’re Not Alone—Let’s Talk About the Real Journey
This week, we have some new women joining our Marriage Monday community—welcome! You are so in the right place. 🙌
We are women who value our marriages, who want to grow, and who believe in lifting each other up through every season of this sacred journey.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about resilience in marriage. As I coach and study marriages, one truth keeps coming up:
✨ Every marriage is unique, but every marriage goes through seasons.
There’s the honeymoon phase. Then come babies. Then teenagers. Then empty nesting, parenting adult children, growing older together…
And let me break it to you gently—but honestly:
You’re not going to get through this journey without changing.
You will grow. You’ll stretch. You’ll learn how to forgive, how to trust again, how to communicate with love, even when it’s hard.
Marriage is full of magic—the laughter, the connection, the deep love that grows stronger with time. But it also comes with hard days. Sometimes hard years.
And the challenge isn’t always the marriage itself. Sometimes it’s:
A health crisis
A financial setback
Losing a job or moving
A child’s struggles
Grief or loss
Infidelity or betrayal
Or even just the weight of everyday life
But here’s the beauty:
If you nurture your marriage during the steady times, it can become a source of strength when the storm hits. So you’re not fighting everything alone.
This week, I came across a phrase I loved:
“You’ve made it through 100% of your hardest days so far.”
And that’s true. There were moments you thought you’d never survive—and yet, here you are. Still showing up. Still loving. Still trying.
I’m so proud of you.
This journey isn’t for the faint of heart, but oh—it is glorious. Whether you’re just starting your marriage, somewhere in the thick of it, or reflecting from the later chapters:
Keep going. Don’t look too far ahead. Just take the next faithful step. One day at a time.
