Are you losing sight of the big picture in your marriage?

Marriage is a journey—an adventure filled with highs and lows, challenges and joy. Each day gives us the opportunity to choose grace, forgiveness, and perspective so we keep moving toward a shared life of love and purpose instead of getting stuck in the frustrations of the moment.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on what truly matters—what I believe in deeply, what’s worth my time and energy, and where my focus belongs. It’s so easy to lose sight of the big picture when the small stresses of daily life take over.

As I’ve watched inspiring examples of couples who center their lives on faith and family, I’ve been reminded how vital it is to protect that focus. Marriage isn’t meant to be a competition or a tally of who’s right and wrong—it’s a partnership. I love how Erika Kirk once said, “Charlie wasn’t my enemy. He was my partner. We didn’t keep score—we were on the same team.”

That spirit of unity and humility keeps love alive. When we invite Christ into our marriage, something changes: we gain wisdom to handle challenges, courage to forgive, and the ability to love our spouse more deeply.

This week, I invite you to pause and reflect:

  • What truly deserves your time and attention?

  • Where might you be getting distracted by the little things?

  • How can you realign your marriage with your eternal goals?

As a mom of three sons navigating their own seasons of love and commitment, I feel deeply grateful for examples of couples who keep their marriages sacred and centered on faith. It reminds me to ask: Am I living in a way that shows others the joy that comes from a Christ-centered marriage?

Take time this week to refocus. Recommit to your spouse. And most importantly, invite the Savior into your daily moments. With Him, your marriage can become the beautiful, joyful, and eternal relationship it was always meant to be.
