Let Your Marriage Trump It All
Welcome to this beautiful community of like-minded people who, despite the challenges in marriage, are here to inspire each other to be all in. Together, we’re celebrating the gift of marriage and learning how to make our marriages go from good to great.
You’ll never have a marriage without bumps, but we’re here to figure out how to overcome those quickly, learn what we need, and deepen our connections in the process.
Today, I want to talk about a word I’ve been hearing a lot lately: Trump. Now, don’t worry—I’m not diving into politics. Instead, I’m using it as a play on words when it comes to marriage.
Here’s the idea: Let your marriage trump all other relationships and priorities in your life—after God, of course. God cares deeply about your marriage, and when we make Him our partner, it’s easier to see our marriage as the top priority relationship it’s meant to be.
Sometimes, society, family, or even the busyness of life can make it easy to let our priorities get out of order. But when we let our marriage trump our children, jobs, hobbies, friends, or other activities, something beautiful happens. It becomes the solid foundation for everything else in our lives.
• When our marriage is strong, it provides the stability our children need.
• When our children see us prioritize each other, they learn what love, problem-solving, and healthy communication look like.
• When our marriage comes first, we build a foundation that supports our work, relationships, and everything else.
So, this week, I encourage you to let your marriage trump it all. Prioritize your spouse. Love on your husband. Forgive, forget, and focus on the good. Let your children see you being affectionate, playful, and kind to each other—it’s one of the greatest gifts you can give them.
And don’t forget to check out our 28-Day Love Challenge starting in February! With just a little effort, you can use the daily ideas (or create your own!) to build stronger connections. Let’s make February the start of an exciting new chapter for your marriage.
