Investing in What Matters Most

Finding Connection in the Little Things

This week, I was reminded of the marriage example that shaped my life the most - my parents' marriage. I moved my 94-year-old father into assisted living this week and as we narrowed down what was most important to take with us it was pictures of my mom and the simplest of necessities. Their love song, "At Last" by Etta James, always brings back memories of their first date and the love story they have shared with us. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to love and commitment, and it reminds me how crucial it is to invest in our marriages daily.

This Week's Insight: How Will You Invest in Your Marriage?

One simple way to invest in your relationship is through small, intentional acts of love.

Take a moment today to do something extra special for your spouse. A thank you, or words of appreciation. These small acts of kindness show love in big ways.

Even the smallest gestures can strengthen our marriage connections. Pick a marriage that inspires you and try to add some of the great examples into your own marriage. Like them, we can embrace joy in the journey of marriage and create meaningful moments with our spouse through simple, yet intentional actions.

A Tribute to My Parents: Love Built on Devotion

Elder Holland once said:

"Of all the things in the world that are worth your whole soul and devotion, it should be your spouse and your children."

Marriage is about finding the treasure we have right now. Whether it’s being present with our spouse or simply going for a ride in the car, these moments together build our connection when done with love.

💡 Take Action:

This week, choose one small thing to show your love—cook their favorite meal, send a sweet message, or spend quality time together and make it happen on purpose. Invest in your greatest treasure!

Let’s build intentional, joyful marriages that stand the test of time.
