How Can You Make Marriage More Fun? Let’s Shake Things Up!
“How Can You Make Marriage More Fun? Let’s Shake Things Up!”
I hope your February Love Challenge is going amazing! I’ve been hearing such great feedback—things like:
“Wow, I forgot I had stopped doing some of these small things, and now that I’m adding them back, I can feel the difference!”
It’s those little moments, those small efforts, that transform a relationship. A thoughtful note, an unexpected hug, a few extra seconds of eye contact—it all adds up.
This Week’s Challenge: How Can I Make This More Fun?
My business mentor, Jamie Berman, always asks:
“How can I make this more fun?”
She uses this question for things like marketing, learning tech, and even sales—areas that often feel overwhelming or boring. But by bringing in high-energy, playfulness, and excitement, the process shifts from stressful to enjoyable.
And it got me thinking…
What if we applied this same mindset to marriage?
• How can I make dinner more fun?
• How can I make laundry a little more playful?
• How can I bring excitement into our daily routine?
Real-Life Inspiration
I’ve been so inspired by some of YOU who are taking the Love Challenge to heart.
One woman, new to marriage and adjusting to life with a baby, shared how she realized she had stopped doing some of the little things that made her marriage feel special. Now, she’s having fun finding small ways to bring back spontaneity—a sweet note, a little extra flirtation, or a spontaneous moment of connection.
And then there’s my sister, Nancy, who took this to another level!
She wanted to ask her husband if she could go on a trip to Paris with us sisters. Instead of just bringing it up in conversation, she set the scene:
• She played French music
• Put Eiffel Tower scenery on the TV
• Dressed in black, white, and a little red
• Lit candles for ambiance
By the time she asked him, her husband wasn’t even focused on the trip—he was just loving the moment! And now, she’s made this a regular thing:
• Mexican Night 🌮
• Indian Night 🇮🇳
• Cowboy Night 🤠 (which doubled as babysitting night!)
When her husband walked in to see her and the grandkids dressed in cowboy hats, overalls, and flannel, he was so surprised and delighted—he even grabbed his light-up lasso and joined in!
And it made me think…
What little ways can we bring more play, surprise, and fun into our everyday lives?
We can:
✅ Eat dinner under a couch fort
✅ Dance in the kitchen while cooking
✅ Tell jokes while folding laundry
✅ Turn movie night into a mini-adventure
The smallest shifts bring the biggest joy.
