The Power of Forgiveness in Love
I just want to start this week by celebrating you—yes, YOU—for showing up in your marriage.
Whether you’re just beginning to be more intentional or have been doing the work for a while, I want you to feel seen, honored, and encouraged. Every effort to strengthen your relationship matters.
✨ A Holy Week Reflection
As we come to the close of Holy Week and celebrate the miracle of Easter,
I can’t help but reflect on what a gift the Atonement is in our marriages.
When we put two people in close proximity—two people who love each other, need each other, and are human—we’re bound to bump into each other.
We’ll say things we wish we hadn’t.
We’ll misread a moment or fail to meet a need.
There will be bruises, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings.
For the little things, a simple “I’m sorry” or “Please forgive me” often does the trick.
But what about the deeper wounds?
The ones that trace back to childhood pain?
The betrayal or silence that cuts deep?
That’s when we remember there’s a third partner in our marriages—the Savior.
💛 Forgiveness & the Savior’s Role
Forgiveness isn’t always easy.
Sometimes we want to let go, but the pain clings tight.
Sometimes we know we should forgive, but it feels impossible.
That’s where we can invite the Savior in.
His Atonement can cover what we can’t do on our own.
He is the healer.
Of our hearts.
Of our homes.
Of our histories.
Of our hopes.
🕊️ Forgive Beyond Your Marriage
Forgiveness sets us free—even if it’s not for your spouse.
Maybe a parent, a sibling, a friend, or a neighbor.
Holding on to a grudge hurts us far more than it ever hurts them.
And when we forgive—even beyond our marriage—it brings more peace into our marriage.
🧠 This Week’s Soul Inventory
This week, I invite you to do a little soul inventory:
Is there a lingering hurt?
A grudge you’re holding?
A resentment that quietly steals your joy?
Invite the Savior into that space.
🙏 Pray.
🌬️ Breathe.
💛 Forgive.
🌿 The Atonement is for Pain, Too
The Atonement isn’t just for sin.
It’s for pain:
Emotional pain
Mental pain
Physical pain
Loss
Loneliness
Regret
He bore it all—so you don’t have to carry it alone.
🌅 Because of Him, Broken Things Live Again
💖 Trust can be rebuilt.
💖 Love can be renewed.
💖 Hearts, minds, bodies, and marriages can be restored.
“A cord of three strands is not easily broken.”
— Ecclesiastes 4:12
You are never alone in this.
You have a Savior who is in it with you—and He is mighty to heal.
